VAN HALEN To Make Big Announcement Tonight?

VAN HALEN are supposedly to make a big live announcement at this evening’s Grammy Nominations Ceremony.

The band are expected to unveil details of their new album and 2012 world tour.

An official press release says that the Grammy Nominations Ceremony, which is set to take place at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles, will feature a special live announcement from a truly iconic group regarding their historic band reunion set to take place on the Grammy stage on February 12th, 2012 (date actual Grammys will take place).

A tweet on the Grammys’ Twitter page reads as follows...



Van Halen have recently signed a new deal with Interscope Records for the release of their first studio album with David Lee Roth in almost 30 years.

ROYAL HUNT - "Show Me How To Live" Studio Webisodes

ROYAL HUNT have released five video clips featuring behind-the-scenes footage from the making of "Show Me How To Live" their 11th studio album.

All five videos from the Danish hard rockers can be seen below. 

The new album is released today in North America and on December 2nd in Europe via Frontiers Records.

Royal Hunt was recently rejoined by D.C. Cooper, the American singer who appeared on the band's 90's albums "Moving Target" and the concept album "Paradox".

JOE BONAMASSA Announces Glasgow Show


JOE BONAMASSA will play the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall on 4th April 2012. 

This show is in addition to his previously announced tour dates in March and the two rearranged shows which were postponed back in October 2011.

SAXON To Play Whole Of Their "Denim & Leather" Album At London Gig Next Month

SAXON will celebrate their, "Denim & Leather", album's 30th anniversary next month.

The band will perform the whole of the 1981 album at their London Koko gig on December 20th.

Singer Biff Byford commented...
"it’s the 30th Anniversary of the album and we played it at Sweden Rock and in Tokyo so it's about time we played the album once in the UK before the year is over.”
SAXON are well into the second half of their "Call To Arms" World Tour 2011 and the remaining dates are as below.
The band will play six UK dates at the end of this tour although London is the only show where they will play their "Denim & Leather" album in full.

MR. BIG's "Raw Like Sushi 100" Box Set Due In Late January 2012

MR. BIG's deluxe box set, "Raw Like Sushi 100", will be released in Japan on January 25th, 2012 via Victor Entertainment.

This box set contains 2 DVD's and 2 CD's in a B4-size hard cover book.

The DVD's feature the concert "Live From The Living Room", held at Toho Studio, Tokyo, Japan, in January 2011 and documentary footage of the band's 2011 Japan tour (60 minutes approx.).

The CD's contain live tracks from MR. BIG's 100th concert in Japan, held at Osaka-jo Hall on April 7th 2011.
The CD's were mixed by Pat Regan and feature K2HD mastering + the high-fidelity HQCD format (this format is compatible with standard CD players).

The hard-cover book contains 96 pages in colour (size: 24.9 x 29.9cm). 
It includes photos of MR. BIG's 2011 Japan tour taken by William Hames, Japan tour data, a tour pass replica, and more.

JAMISON Rejoins SURVIVOR

JIMI JAMISON will once again front AOR band SURVIVOR.

Five years after leaving the band, singer Jamison as rejoined.
He will now be working with guitarist Frankie Sullivan, guitarist/keyboard player Walter Tolentino, bassist Billy Ozello and drummer Marc Droubay.
"It feels great to be back with Frankie and the band, singing the songs that the fans love," says Jamison.
Frankie Sullivan adds, "I'm excited to have Jimi back up front singing the hits, and giving the fans what they want."
Survivor will very start work on a new album, planned to be released during the first half of next year.

REVAMP Front Woman Recovering From Burnout

REVAMP
REVAMP/ex-AFTER FOREVER vocalist, Floor Jansen, has released a new video message in which she updates fans on her condition after her "burnout" caused the band to pull out of the "Out Of The Dark" tour with Van Canto, Tristania, Xandria and Amberian Dawn.

REVAMP should return to the live stage in January when they are to support EPICA for two Dutch dates in Hengelo on January 12th and Heerlen the following day.

JON OLIVA'S PAIN Working On New Album

JON OLIVA'S PAIN are hard at work on new material for their forthcoming album.

This is the follow-up to their fourth album, "Festival", which was released in February of last year.

The band's drummer, Christopher Kinder, has issued the following update...
"Jon Oliva and I are set for Wednesday (tomorrow) to go over the next batch of material for consideration. It will ultimately be 50 or demos from the start and then begin to narrow it down. Even then, after all that work, we will enter Morrisound Studios with 70% of songs realized and then the final 30% is the magic during the recording process that will bring it all to life. 'Festival' touring dates in Europe for 2012 is also on the table for discussion."
Jon Oliva's Pain recently lost guitarist, Matt Laporte, who passed away at his home in Florida on April 20th of this year.

WITHIN TEMPTATION Perform Acoustically On Belgium's Q-MUSIC


Dutch symphonic metal band WITHIN TEMPTATION played an acoustic set on Belgium's Q-music  last Saturday (November 12th).
This was a warm-up for their forthcoming theater tour in March/April 2012.

To celebrate the 10th anniversary of Q-music, we played an acoustic version of Ice Queen and Faster. 
During the upcoming Dutch theater tour in 2012 we’ll play unique acoustic arrangements! We’ll be visiting 13 different theaters throughout the Netherlands. You can find more information on the theater tour here.

Alice Cooper has been confirmed for next year's Bloodstock Open Air festival, set to take place from August 10th-12th at Catton Hall in Walton On Trent, Derbyshire, England.

Festival bookings organiser Vicky Gregory commented...
"As Bloodstock organizers, but more importantly, huge fans of Alice Cooper, we are thrilled to have such an iconic artist close proceedings on the Sunday night! We have been after Alice for a number of years and are extremely excited to see him grace the Ronnie James Dio stage and guarantee this will be a performance not to be missed."
