MÖTLEY CRÜE will re-release its back catalogue in the UK on Eleven Seven Music, having regained the rights to all its songs.

The following albums will be re-released on November 14th as vinyl-replica CDs with a 16-page booklet, a CD with a five-page booklet and on 180-gram vinyl in a four-colour gatefold sleeve...

TRIVIUM Release New Video

"Built To Fall", is the new video from TRIVIUM and can be viewed at the bottom of this posting.

The clip was directed by Ramon Boutviseth, who has previously worked with Darkest Hour, Incubus and All That Remains.

"Built To Fall" comes from Trivium's latest album, "In Waves", which sold over 20,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release.

The album reached number 13 on The Billboard 200 chart which was the highest U.S. chart entry of the band's career.

JEFF HEALEY Box Set To Be Released Next Month

Eagle Rock will release a 3CD/DVD, "Live Anthology", on November 21st.

The set features four discs of rare material and it contains live performances from the Jeff Healey Band recorded over a period of six years.

The Jeff Healey Band is known for their high-energy live performances. This special edition package features 3 very unique concerts – their appearance at the 1989 Montreal Jazz Festival, in support of their debut album “See The Light”, a 1991 performance at Switzerland’s St. Gallen Open Air Festival (featured on both CD & DVD here!) and a 1995 concert in their home town of Toronto, on the heels of the release of their “Cover To Cover” album.

New Limited Edition GRATEFUL DEAD Releases Announced

David Lemieux has recently announced new forthcoming limited edition album releases from the GRATEFUL DEAD.

The series is based upon the Dick's Picks series, which was discontinued in 2005 six years after its namesake, Dick Latvala, died.

David is the band's new archivist and he has now renamed the project Dave's Picks.

The first release, at the beginning of next year,will feature the Grateful Dead's complete concert from May 25, 1977 at the Mosque in Richmond, Virginia.

Dave's Picks will be available both individually and by subscription via the Grateful Dead's official website. 

Subscribers will get all four quarterly 2012 releases as well as a collectable bonus CD. 

Each release will be limited to 12,000 numbered copies.

CHICKENFOOT "III" Album Review

Chickenfoot (Joe Satriani, Sammy Hagar, Chad Smith & Michael Anthony) released their first album in 2009 and although it was a worthy effort I felt that they were holding something back.

I have got to admit, although a good album, I expected more from a supergroup.

Their second album,Chickenfoot "III", is released in amazing 3-D packaging with all formats (Deluxe CD/DVD Ltd. Edition, 12" Vinyl Edition & Standard Edition CD) coming complete with Chickenfoot 3-D glasses.

I can now understand why the second album is called, "III", as the band have gone up not one gear; but at least two on this effort.

This is definitely more like it.

This 10-track album runs for around 42 minutes, which means there are no fillers, quality not quantity.

Right from the hard rocking first track, "Last Temptation", the band show that they mean business.

This is followed by, "Alright, Alright", which is a catchy bluesy rock song and I found myself tapping away to Chad Smith's drum beat.

The most commercial sounding track is, "Different Devil"; and would not be out of place on a Sammy Hagar solo album.
I am a big fan of Sammy's solo stuff so that's fine with me.

There is a superb catchy riff on track four's, "Up Next", a song about immortality. Great guitar solo from Satriani also.

The first half of the CD comes to an end with the excellent stadium rocker, "Lighten Up", with Satriani once again excelling.

Track six is the soul type ballad, "Come Closer", doesn't really fit in with the rest of the album; but is certainly enjoyable and eases us in to the second half.

"Three And A Half Letters" is about the economic situation, "I need a job" sings Hagar.
Great vocals and guitar.

The album ends with two very strong tracks, namely the party rocker single, "Big Foot" and the excellent funky, bluesy, "Dubai Blues".

The final track, "Something Going Wrong", is a bit experimental; but after a few plays, it works for me.

To sum up, this is a much better effort than the band's debut and I am sure it will go platinum, make no mistake.

Hagar's vocals are still top notch, Satriani's guitar is excellent, Michael Anthony plays great bass (sings good backing vocals) and Smith is workmanlike on the drums.

The songs are strong, sometimes rather experimental; but not a duff track on the album.

If you are a rock fan then this is an definitely an essential purchase.

ANDROMEDA Reveal New Album Details

Swedish progressive metal band ANDROMEDA release their new album, "Manifest Tyranny", on November 25th in Europe (Inner Wound Recordings) and November 21st in North America (Nightmare Records).

It is available as a regular CD version and via digital download, as well as a very exclusive wooden box edition, strictly limited to 400 copies worldwide. 

A digital single, "Lies 'R' Us", will be released on October 28th.

SCORPIONS Release Live CD & Blu-Ray

The SCORPIONS French fan club, Crazyscorps, have reported that the band will release, "Get Your Sting & Blackout", on CD and Blu-ray today (Friday, October 14th) with exclusive distribution in Europe via the retailer Media Markt.

Both formats contain a recording of the band's April 15th, 2011 concert in Saarbrücken, Germany as part of Scorpions' ongoing farewell tour.

CHICKENFOOT have announced two UK dates for January 2012, in Manchester and London, as part of a 5-date European tour.

Frontiers Records is pleased to announce the release of ROYAL HUNT 11th studio album entitled « Show me How to Live » on November 29th in North America and December 2nd in Europe.Royal Hunt have been recently rejoined by DC Cooper, the American singer that marked the two most successful releases of the band in the 90’s : « Moving Target » and the concept album « Paradox ». “We started chatting on Skype from time to time and that’s how the idea of doing on a mini tour came about”, tells Royal Hunt founder, songwriter and keyboards player Andre Andersen. “After playing some shows we realized that the chemistry was still there and we decided to continue… recording a new album - first...”. And you can certainly hear the results on “Show Me How to Live”. The new material is described as "highly melodic with rich, lush arrangements and stellar production”, this will certainly please the fans of neoclassical yet progressive music. Andersen continues “The new songs are continuing right from where we left it in the first place, so far it sounds great. It will have some qualities of our previous albums “Moving Target” and “Paradox”, but you can certainly expect some cool updates and new twists!”
Founded in Denmark in 1989 by Andre Andersen, Royal Hunt has gone through numerous personnel changes since the inception. Though certainly the two albums that they have released with American singer DC Cooper; are the ones that mostly stood the test of time: “Moving Target” in 1995 and the subsequent concept album “Paradox” in 1997.
While Andre Andersen - a musical genius who can virtually play any instrument, compose, write lyrics and produce all at the same time – is undoubtedly the powerhouse force that drives the entire ensemble forward like a bulldozer, it’s also sure that DC is one of the top singers in the entire hard rock world. The extension and warmth of his vocals are the key elements that can bring back Royal Hunt to the throne of nowadays Hard Rock scene.
Once again recorded and produced at NorthPoint Studios in Denmark, “Show Me How To Live” brings back Royal Hunt at force 10 with an highly melodic sound and rich, lush arrangements and stellar production. With the amazing new line-up, the fans as well as the critics, are about to get a fresh taste of the powerful and rejuvenated ROYAL HUNT!

As a companion to the new album release, Frontiers Records will also release on the same day a double DVD entitled “Future Coming From the Past”. The first DVD is entitled “1996” and was recorded live in Japan just after the release of the band's "Moving Target” album. "1996" is an excellent summary of Royal Hunt's career up to that point. The band offers a great mix of songs from their first three studio albums. The band was in top form for this show, with DC leading the way. 

The second DVD "Paradox - Closing the Chapter" was recorded in 1998 and marked the end of the original DC Cooper era for Royal Hunt. It is essentially a complete live performance of the band's amazing studio album "Paradox", their most successful album to date. It is a very solid performance and DC delivers the goods, while the band's playing is superb. To complete the package is a 50 minute documentary which shares stories of life in a Rock band.
