FLEETWOOD MAC Are NOT Recording A New Album

Despite rumours, if you pardon the pun, FLEETWOOD MAC have no definite commitments to record a new album in the near future.

Talking to Classic Rock Magazine, guitarist/vocalist Lindsey Buckingham has denied that the band are currently working on a new album.
“We’ve nothing like that going on at all. Stevie (Nicks) has been busy touring and I’m just about to release my new solo album (Seeds We Sow, out on September 5th) and have plans to tour on the back of that. So, right now nothing’s booked for the band.
However, I would be very surprised if we don’t make a new album at some point. Currently, I have eight or nine new song ideas, some of which might fit in with Fleetwood Mac.”

New GARY MOORE Live Release

Eagle Records will release "GARY MOORE - Live At Montreux" on September 19th.
"2010 saw Gary Moore make a return to rock music after a long period of time exploring the blues. He was writing and working on a new rock album when all was brought to a halt by his untimely death on 6th February 2011. This concert from Montreux in July 2010 was his last performance to be filmed. The setlist draws heavily on his hugely successful rock albums of the eighties, stirs in a couple of his classic blues tracks with some memorable hit singles and includes three brand new songs that would have featured on the album left sadly uncompleted on his death. Gary Moore was one of the finest and most respected guitarists the British Isles have ever produced. This concert shows just what a talent we will miss."
Eagle Records will release "Live at Montreux 2010" in three formats: CD, DVD & Blu-Ray, while in Japan it will be available in limited DVD+2CD and Blu-Ray+2CD versions as well.

Track list:
01. Over The Hills And Far Away
02. Thunder Rising
03. Military Man
04. Days Of Heroes

BLACK SABBATH To Reunite?

Black Sabbath have reunited, although there are doubts about drummer Bill Ward's health; and they are rehearsing for a tour and new album.

That is according to the Birmingham Mail anyway, I will believe it when I see it.

The Birmingham Mail reported that in an interview with Tony Iommi he revealed that the project has been under wraps for a couple of months, after he and Ozzy got back together to start writing together.
"We're really looking forward to it and I think the stuff we've been writing is really good," said Tony. "It's more back to the old original stuff." "It's all been very hush-hush. Ozzy's been the worst at trying to hold it back. He's doing a lot of TV and he's being asked stuff about a reunion and he's going 'well I never say never' "He told me, 'I don't know what to say'. "I had umpteen number of people on the phone asking if I fancied getting together with a band but I couldn't tell them what I was doing. I just had to say I was busy." The only question mark at the moment is seemingly around drummer Bill Ward's health. "He hasn't been 100 per cent. He had an operation a few months ago, so we'll see how he is."
Tony Iommi later issued the following statement on his website...
Black Sabbath Re-Union Speculation 16th August 2011
Black Sabbath Re-Union
I'm saddened that a Birmingham journalist whom I trusted has chosen this point in time to take a conversation we had back in June and make it sound like we spoke yesterday about a Black Sabbath reunion.
At the time I was supporting the Home of Metal exhibition was merely speculating shooting the breeze on something all of us get asked constantly "Are you getting back together?"
Thanks to the internet it's now gone round the world as some sort of "official" statement on my part, absolute nonsense. I hope he's enjoyed his moment of glory, he won't have another at my expense.
To my old pals, Ozzy, Geezer and Bill, sorry about this, I should have known better.
All the best, Tony

K2 Postpone Visit To SUMMERS END FESTIVAL

K2 have postponed their visit to the SUMMERS END FESTIVAL until next year due to a family illness.

They have been replaced by the excellent DAY SIX and also DELAN BURKE will open the festival on the Friday evening.

The full press release is as follows...
Summers End – K2 withdraw, Day Six in and Declan Burke on Friday
A little flurry of news about the Summers End Festival , which takes place on 7th, 8th and 9th October at Lydney Town Hall, Gloucestershire.
Unfortunately, due to a serious illness to a member of bassist Ken Jaquess' immediate family, K2 have had to withdraw from this year's festival. We wish Ken and his family well and have agreed that they will play in 2012. Their replacements are the remarkable Day Six from Holland. Having stolen the show at the Fused Festival in Lydney in April this year, we knew that we would have to bring them back for Summers End at some point, and K2's unfortunate withdrawal, for a year at least, has give us that opportunity. You will not be disappointed.   http://www.myspace.com/daysixweb
To complete or line up we are delighted to welcome Declan Burke and band to open the Friday night of the festival. Dec is no stranger to the festival having already played with Darwin's Radio and Frost, so the opening slot is in safe hands!   www.decburke.com
Coming very soon – confirmed news of the Sponsors ticket goodies, and the standard T-shirt pre-order. For those of you wondering where your tickets are, they will be sent out at the end of August.
Confirmed Line up....
Friday 7th October
Double headliner: Lazuli (France) / Amplifier (UK) + Declan Burke (UK).
Saturday 8th October
Evening: Arena (UK) – Saturday Headliner, The Tangent (UK ) – Saturday Special guest, Afternoon: Day Six (Holland), Casual Silence (Holland), Invertigo (Germany).
Sunday 9th October
Evening: Caravan (UK) – Sunday Headliner, Magenta (UK) – Sunday Special Guest,  Afternoon: Headspace (UK), Sunchild (Ukraine), Unto Us (UK)

New HEART Album To Be Released Next Year

HEART are preparing to record a new album with producer Ben Mink, who co-produced the band's 2010 album, "Red Velvet Car".

Nancy Wilson commented...
"We've got most of it written already, We're writing again and working on songs with producer Ben Mink. This time we're gonna go a little more heavy rock, a little more electric guitar. And so far so good; I think there's some really amazing songs already. We're still kind of polishing and buffing the rough demos so far, but we're getting excited."
Fans can also expect a band autobiography around the same time.

TARJA Forms New Group

The following news update has appeared on former NIGHTWISH singer TARJA TURUNEN's official website...

There is an old Finnish tradition when it comes to newborns – the baby is not to be named until the baptism ceremony, when he or she is presented to the family with the chosen name.A few years ago, in 2006, a new project from Tarja was born and, following the same tradition, the time has come to baptize it, to make the presentations to the family and to give it a name – HARUS.HARUS is a rather peculiar, uncommon Finnish word that describes the four tensors that keep a tent together or the tensor that keeps the mast from falling in a sailing boat.
Both of the meanings apply to this musicians line up: four members, four equals, four different backgrounds to tie together exquisite classical music developed strongly and in a very stable way, with a taste of experimental, modern feel.
The ever-changing waters HARUS sails on promise a unique feeling and combination for each program.
HARUS are:
Tarja Turunen : Vocals
Kalevi Kiviniemi : Organ
Marzi Nyman: Guitar
Markku Krohn: Percussion
Let’s give HARUS a warm welcome and expect further news very soon!
