Glenn Hughes has revealed on Twitter that BLACK COUNTRY COMMUNION will film one of their shows very soon.

In a Twitter post Glenn wrote that the band would be recording in Hi-Def for a Blu-ray release later this year.

The October 2011 dates mark Rundgren’s first UK shows since 2010’s sold-out London Hammersmith Apollo concert where he performed the entirety of his 1973 milestone album A Wizard, A True Star.


An acclaimed record producer, composer, songwriter and recording artist, Rundgren is widely regarded as the acknowledged godfather of the marriage of music and multimedia. Having founded and fronted The Nazz, the quintessential `60's power-pop psychedelic band, in 1969 he left them to pursue a solo career, recording his debut offering, the classic Runt.


It was 1972's seminal Something/Anything?, on which he played all the instruments, sang all the vocal parts, and acted as his own producer, that catapulted Todd into the superstar limelight. Among Rundgren's impressive 50+ production projects are albums by Patti Smith, Cheap Trick, Psychedelic Furs, XTC, Grand Funk Railroad, Hall & Oates, and Meat Loaf’s multi-platinum debut Bat Out Of Hell.

LACUNA COIL Reveal New Album Title

Italian rock/metal band LACUNA COIL has set "Dark Adrenaline" as the title of their new album, due in October via Century Media Records.

It is once again being produced by Don Gilmore in the band's home country.

"This time around music has been our refuge from some of the darkest days of our life and that's why the new songs have such a variety of feelings... some stuff is pretty angry, probably the heaviest we've ever written, some other songs are intense, loaded with velvet dark emotions and there's even a little space for some light at the end of the tunnel,"

When the recording sessions for the new album have finished, the band will spend the Summer performing at a select number of European festivals, including Greenfield, Graspop Metal Meeting and Spain's Sonisphere.

NIGHTWISH Confirmed For 70000 TONS OF METAL Cruise

METALLICA To Record A Collaboration With LOU REED

METALLICA's official website has been updated with the following message with regards to the band's new recording project...

"A few months ago our own Kirk Hammett hinted at a new METALLICA project that's 'not really 100 percent a Metallica record.' While Kirk may have jumped the gun a little (and has since been properly punished with a series of push-ups!), we are more than proud to announce that we have just completed recording a full-length album that is a collaboration with none other than the legendary Lou Reed. Ever since we had the pleasure of performing with Lou at the 25th anniversary of the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame at Madison Square Garden in October of 2009, we have been kicking around the idea of making a record together. Some of you astute Bay Area residents may have picked up news of recent Lou Reed sightings in the greater San Francisco area and we have indeed been working at our home studio at Metallica headquarters in San Rafael, California on and off over the last few months. LINDSEY BUCKINGHAM To Release New Solo Album In September

Fleetwood Mac guitarist, LINDSEY BUCKINGHAM, will release his sixth solo album on September 5th.

The first single to be taken from the album titled, "Seeds We Sow" will be "In Our Time".
Other tracks on the album include 'Ilumination', 'One Take', 'End Of Time', 'When She Comes Down' and 'When She Smiles Sweetly'.

"This might be the best work I've ever done. I think it's an excellent representation of what I do. It shows a certain maturity and musicianship, and I just feel like I have a lot of tools in my musical vocabulary from which to draw that are again the product of the choices I've made. It's on my own terms. This is very much from the inside out and I hope I never stop doing that."

Buckingham has announced US dates in support of the album; but no European ones have been finalised yet.

DEVIN TOWNSEND To Release Two Albums On June 21st

Canadian musician and producer Devin Townsend will release "Deconstruction" and "Ghost", under the DEVIN TOWNSEND PROJECT moniker, on June 21st via InsideOut Music.

These are the third and fourth in a series of CD's which will complete his tetralogy album concept.
Albums number 1 and 2 "Addicted" and "Ki", were released in 2009.

After releasing, "Deconstruction" and "Ghost", Devin Townsend will return to London in November to play a set of very special shows dedicated to his four-album concept.

The new Black Country Communion album, “2”, is released in the UK by Mascot Records on Monday June 13th and in the US the following day (J&R Adventures).

Supergroup, Black Country Communion (Glenn Hughes, Joe Bonamassa, Derek Sherinian, Jason Bonham), will release their second album, "2", less than nine months after their debut.

One could be forgiven for thinking that the majority of songs on the new album were left over from the first. However, if they were, they must have held the best until last as this new album is even better than it's predecessor.

Their debut album, released in September of last year, was one of my top ten of 2010; but the new one is my favorite release of the year so far.

The album is a little heavier this time around and Derek Sherinian's keyboards are higher in the mix which makes a great improvement to the overall sound.

I cannot fault the musicianship with Hughes' vocals as good as ever and Bonham and Bonamassa in superb form.

The eleven tracks clock in at around 64 minutes and not a duff song amongst them.
Bonamassa sings on two of the tracks ('The Battle For Hadrian's Wall' and 'An Ordinary Son'); but it is on guitar where he really shines.

The stand-out tracks for me are the eight minutes long "An Ordinary Son", "Save Me"(Zeppelin could have written this) and "Cold" where the vocals from Hughes and guitar from Bonamassa are out of this world.

I was brought up on this style of rock music in the seventies and Black Country Communion do this so very well. It doesn't come any better than this.
If your into Led Zeppelin/Deep Purple-esque music you will just love this album.

Would also just like to add that the production by Kevin Shirley is spot on.Purchase  BCC "2" and you will definitely not be disappointed.

ALICE COOPER is bringing his "NIGHT OF FEAR" show to the UK for a series of six Halloween shows in October.

SAXON Release "Hammer Of The Gods" Video

The video for "Hammer Of The Gods", the new single from heavy metal giants SAXON, can be viewed at the bottom of this posting.

The band have just released "Call To Arms" in Europe via Militia Guard Music, UDR and EMI.
The album was Recorded at Chapel Studios in Lincolnshire, UK and Brighton Electric Studios in Brighton, UK. "Call To Arms" was co-produced by Biff Byford and Toby Jepson (Little Angels).

The album features Biff Byford on lead vocals, Paul Quinn and Doug Scarratt on guitars, Nibs Carter on bass and Nigel Glockler on drums.
There is also a guest appearance from keyboard legend Don Airey on "When Doomsday Comes".
