THE IRON MAIDENS - New Footage Available

THE IRON MAIDENS, the all female tribute to heavy metal band IRON MAIDEN, performed at the House Of Blues in West Hollywood, California on March 15th.

Fan-filmed footage of the concert can be seen below.

THE band filmed and recorded all five of its Japanese "Metal Gathering" tour dates, in January of last year, for a live DVD and CD to be released later this year.

The Iron Maidens were formed ten years ago and their excellent musicianship, with an elaborate stage show, have gained the band national and international recognition.

SUMMERS END FESTIVAL Announce Three More Bands + Early Ticket Details

The Summers End Festival, which will takes place at Lydney Town Hall on October 7th, 8th, 9th 2011, has announced early ticket details plus more bands.

The full announcement reads as follows...

This year we have decided to put 3 day tickets on sale immediately for those that want to get their tickets sorted out good and early, and who are willing to take a leap of faith on the continued quality of the festival!

There will be 2 types of early ticket, and these will go on sale at Midnight on Sunday 27th March : Sponsors Tickets. Priced £85. Those adopting the “Sponsors” package will receive a 3 day ticket to the festival, an exclusive “sponsors” T shirt, and at least one other exclusive Festival-related goodie to be confirmed. It’s also a brilliant way of contributing to the organisation of the Festival.

Early Bird Tickets. With 3 day tickets likely to be priced AT LEAST £60 we are offering an early bird 3 day ticket at £55 up until 1st May 2011, when normal 3 day ticket prices will apply and Saturday / Sunday tickets will also become available.

Sunchild, from the Ukraine, are one of several projects to feature prolific and talented keyboard played Antony Kalugin. New RORY GALLAGHER Album To Be Released In June

A brand new 2CD set of unreleased Rory Gallagher material, "Notes From San Francisco", will be released on June 6th of this year.

The first CD comprises on an album that was to be released in 1978;  but was shelved as Gallagher was not happy with the mixing process.
It has now been remixed.

The second CD is a live album taken from four nights at The Old Waldorf, San Francisco December 1979 with Rory Gallagher (guitar/vocals), Gerry McAvoy (bass) and Ted McKenna (drums).

GAMMA RAY's "Skeletons & Majesties" Album Details Released

German power metallers GAMMA RAY will release, "Skeletons & Majesties", on May 31st via Armoury Records/Eagle Rock Entertainment.

The album is a collection of songs GAMMA RAY gathered from previous albums represented in two completely different styles. The purpose of the disc is simply to have fun, and to give fans a heads-up on what is in store for the band in the coming months.

The first two tracks ("Skeletons") feature brand new versions of some of Gamma Ray's songs rarely played live, including "Hold Your Ground" ("Heading For Tomorrow" album) and "Brothers" ("Insanity And Genius" album).

"Majesties" is two more new versions of rarities, "Send Me A Sign" ("Powerplant") and "Rebellion In Dreamland" ("Land Of The Free"), both performed acoustically.
There are also three bonus tracks, "Wannabees" (previously only released on the "To The Metal!" seven-inch single), an extended version of "Brothers" and "Rebellion In Dreamland" karaoke style.

SUMMERS END FESTIVAL Announce First Two Bands For 2011

Summers End have announced that ARENA, with new vocalist Paul Manzi, will headline the Saturday evening of their festival in October.

US band K2 are the second band to be announced with lots more to follow over the coming weeks.

The Summers End Festival will take place at Lydney Town Hall on October 7th, 8th & 9th 2011.

We are thrilled that Arena will headline the Saturday night of the Festival.  The band will need no introduction to most prog fans, and with Messrs Pointer, Nolan, Mitchell and Salmon now joined by the superb Paul Manzi on lead vocals and a new album in the works, this year will see the band active once more.  This will be a rare chance to see the band live in the UK in 2011.

New KATE BUSH Album On The Way

KATE BUSH will release a new album of reworked versions of earlier tracks.

This will be her first album in six years and will be released on May 16th.

Titled, "Director's Cut", the CD will feature re-recorded elements of songs from two of Kate's previous solo albums, 1989's The Sensual World and 1993's The Red Shoes, whilst "keeping the best musical performances of each song,".

The album will be released digitally, on CD in a case-bound book, as part of a three-CD package that will include "Director's Cut", "The Sensual World" and the remastered "The Red Shoes" in a case-bound book; and a double vinyl edition.

Bush is also working on an album of brand new material.

JOURNEY Reveal New Album Artwork

JOURNEY will release their brand new album "Eclipse" in the U.S. and Canada on May 24th exclusively at Walmart and on June 3rd in Europe via Frontiers Records.

The 12 tracks were written over the last year by guitarist Neal Schon and keyboard player Jonathan Cain, with collaboration from singer Arnel Pineda.

The band debuted five news songs "Edge Of The Moment", "Resonate", "Chain Of Love", "City Of Hope" and "Human Feel" on February 23rd, 2011 at the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in las Vegas, Nevada.

AC/DC Live DVD/Blu-Ray Details

AC/DC's new live DVD and Blu-Ray will be titled "Live At River Plate" and will be released on May 10th.

This is according to Amazon USA which has listed the DVD and Blu- Ray for pre-order with the release date and a tracklisting.

The video looks set to include a few bonus features, including a feature called 'The Fan, The Roadie, The Guitar Tech & The Meat,' which includes interviews with AC/DC, their crew and fans.

DIRE STRAITS To Play May Charity Show In London

Former members of Dire Straits, plus special guests, will play together on May 22nd as The Straits for a special one off Charity show London's Royal Albert Hall.

This one off gig is in aid of The Lord's Taverners whose aim is "Giving young people, particularly those with special needs, a sporting chance".

The Lord's Taverners is the official Charity of recreational cricket and the UK's leading youth cricket and sports Charity. The charity focuses on youth cricket in disadvantaged areas as well as offering sports and recreational equipment for young people with disabilities and special needs.

The band for this special one-off show will feature Alan Clark, Phil Palmer, Chris White, Steve Ferrone, Terence Reis, Mick Feat and Jamie Squire.

DRAGONFORCE Announce New Vocalist

Dragonforce have finally announced that 23-year-old Marc Hudson  will be their new singer.

Guitarist Herman Li commented on the appointment...

“After almost a year of searching around the globe, it’s great to be able to finally tell our fans the good news. Marc’s expressive and melodic vocals are sounding phenomenal on the new songs, adding another dimension to the DragonForce sound that I am sure all the fans will love.”

The new line-up are working on a new album which should be released by the end of September.

Dragonforce will also be supporting Iron Maiden in August at the following dates...

MOTORHEAD & W.A.S.P. Announced For BLOODSTOCK

W.A.S.P. and MOTÖRHEAD have been announced as Friday & Sunday headliners for this year's Bloodstock.

The festival takes place at Catton Hall in Derbyshire from 12th-14th August.

GARY MOORE Documentary Due Later This Year

"White Knuckles & Blue Moods" is a forthcoming documentary film about Gary Moore's career and his influence on other guitarists.

Jörgen Holmstedt and Stefan Mossberg have been working on this feature for a couple years now and it features contributions from Gary himself, Don Airey, Jon Hiseman, Brian Downey, John Sykes, Eric Bell and Brian Robertson.

"White Knuckles and Blue Moods" has a running time of around 60 minues and is due for release during the second half of this year.
