AC/DC Live Release Expected In April

AC/DC are expected to release a live DVD and CD by early April.

This was filmed and recorded over three nights at the River Plate Stadium in Buenos Aires in December 2009, on the Black Ice tour.

Vocalist Brian Johnson revealed this in a new interview...

“We’ve got a new live album which we shot in Argentina at the end of the last tour. There was 300,000 people there, and it was just wonderful. We had about 12 cameras there and a great sound crew, and we just enjoyed the heck out of it. “The live album comes out, with the video of those concerts, in about six weeks or something. So I’m looking forward to that.”

The 5.1 Surround Sound remix of RUSH's classic album "Moving Pictures" will be released on April 5th.

It will be released as a CD/DVD set and a CD/Blu-ray disc set.

BLACK COUNTRY COMMUNION - Two Live Tracks Available For Free Download

BLACK COUNTRY COMMUNION has joined forces with the UK's Planet Rock radio station to offer rock fans the opportunity to download two exclusive free live tracks.

The songs, "Black Country" and "One Last Soul", were originally recorded live in front of a specially invited audience at John Henry's in London, on September 20th, 2010.

The live recordings have been exclusively mixed for Planet Rock by BCC's producer Kevin Shirley.

To be allowed to download the live tracks, rock fans are being asked to become VIP members of Planet Rock's web site by signing up to www.planetrock.com/vip.
Once free membership has been activated, fans will have access to the free download, along with other VIP offers.

DEEP PURPLE To Release Super Limited Edition Single

DEEP PURPLE will release a super limited vinyl single on April 16th.

The band will be participating in the forthcoming Record Store Day, which helps celebrate independent record stores around the world.

Bands that support the cause released super-limited edition singles and albums to help drive traffic through record store doors on one particular day each year.

Deep Purple will therefore be issuing a double A-side 7" single containing previously unreleased versions of Hush and Speed King from 1969.
The single will be a Mk 1 and Mk2 double A-side, with a version of "Hush" which recorded for Chris Grant's Tasty Pop Sundae in early 1969, and "Speed King", recorded for Stuart Henry's Noise At Nine in October the same year.

Both tracks will be on the forthcoming Deep Purple "BBC Sessions" album which is released at the end of April.

There will be only 1400 copies of the single available worldwide.

THUNDER To Release Live Album Next Month

Thunder are all set to release a  four disc live album next month.
"Thunder-Live-Rough & Ready", will be released as a double gatefold, four-CD pack and was recorded during two shows on the band’s 2005 The Magnificent Seventh tour.

The first two CDs feature the whole set from Club Citta in Kawasaki, Japan on July 3rd, 2005 with the third and fourth ones being recorded at the Shepherd’s Bush Empire in London on March 10th, 2005.

The band will re-form to play a one-off gig at the High Voltage Festival on July 24th.

NIGHTWISH Reveal New Album Details

NIGHTWISH's Tuomas Holopainen has revealed more details about the band's forthcoming "Imaginarium" album to Petri Silas of Finland's Soundi magazine.

Holopainen said that he was responsible for writing all of the music on "Imaginarium", with the exception of one track, which was penned by vocalist/bassist Marco Hietala.

The new Nightwish album will include an epic 20-minute track which may or may not be split into two sections during the mastering.
Depending on the outcome of this, the CD will consist of 12 or 13 tracks.

Orchestral arrangements are by Pip Williams and Troy Donockley will once again make an appearance on the new album.

Tuomas said...

"We are using a wide array of ethnic instruments like the Taiko drums and the zurna on 'Imaginarium' The choir parts are yet again delivered by The Metro Voices".

"Imaginarium" the movie, directed by Stobe Harju, will follow the album's theme and story closely and will also include dialogue.
All preliminary screenplay work/storyboards are finished; but no actors or actresses have been chosen yet.

Petri Silas' full interview with Tuomas Holopainen will appear in the March 2011 issue of Soundi magazine, due out in Finland on Wednesday (February 23rd).

NIGHTWISH are to hold a press conference about this project sometime at the end of this month.

As you know we are not able to do a lot of festivals due to Sharon's pregnancy. Therefore, if you want to see us perform this summer, you have 2 options to buy tickets for. First of all Bavaria Open Air, which will take place on August 27th. Another festival we are really looking forward to is Huntenpop, which will take place on August 12th, tickets are on sale now! We will be headlining that day (meaning we'll play longer), you can buy tickets only for that day as well, so if you only want to come and see us play, you can! It will be the first Dutch festival we will be doing in 3(!) years, so it sure is going to be a very special performance. We hope to see you all there!

Thunder will reform, after splitting in 2009, to make a surprise return to this Summer’s High Voltage festival in London.

The festival takes place in London’s Victoria Park on July 23rd and 24th.

EARL SLICK Joins The NEW YORK DOLLS For UK Dates

Guitarist Earl Slick has officially joined the New York Dolls on their forthcoming UK tour dates.

Slick is best known for being David Bowie’s guitarist on the albums "David Live (1974)", "Young Americans (1975)" and "Station To Station (1976)".

EUROPE To Film London Show For Future DVD/Blu-ray Release

Swedish rockers EUROPE will film the whole of their London o2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire concert on Saturday, February 19th for future DVD/Blu-ray release.

This video release will also include behind-the-scenes footage, including rehearsals and backstage banter filmed during the dates of their  “Balls ’N’ Banners” UK tour.

Europe will perform music from their current album ‘Last Look At Eden’, plus classic tracks from their albums ‘Wings of Tomorrow’, ‘The Final Countdown’, ‘Out of This World’, ‘Prisoners in Paradise’, ‘Start From The Dark’ and ‘Secret Society.’

"We're taking some new directions with our songs, and we're exploring different styles,” says Europe’s lead singer Joey Tempest about the songs from the Eden album. "There is a definite classic rock vibe on some of the tracks... a tip of the hat to groovin', funkin' 70s rock songs, but ones we have bought into the here and now.”

The concert will be released in October of this year and will also include a bonus live CD.

"The Spellbound Sessions" is limited to 1,000 copies and will be made available to the Tyger Force fan club members from February 10th.
The CD will be available for general sale from the band's web site shop from February 19th.
