The series is based upon the Dick's Picks series, which was discontinued in 2005 six years after its namesake, Dick Latvala, died.
David is the band's new archivist and he has now renamed the project Dave's Picks.
The first release, at the beginning of next year,will feature the Grateful Dead's complete concert from May 25, 1977 at the Mosque in Richmond, Virginia.
