The progressive and symphonic metal festival will take place at the Lydney Town Hall from April 1st-3rd 2011.
THRESHOLD were the first band to be announced for the festival.
Things are shaping up very nicely; and I have been wanting to see To-Mera live for some years now, so it is great news that they will be appearing.
The full announcement from the organisers reads as follows...
Fused - the new home of progressive and symphonic metal in the UK.
Lydney Town Hall - 1-3 April 2011
The Fused Festival is the brainchild of The Classic Rock Society and the team behind the Summer's End Festival, the UK's longest running and best-loved progressive rock festival.
Over the three days, the Festival will host live performances from some of the World’s finest progressive and symphonic metal bands and we are delighted to launch the festival with the news that THRESHOLD will be headlining Saturday 2nd April.
The venue, Lydney Town Hall, is a small, intimate venue with a capacity of just 400, so buying tickets early is highly recommended.
Tickets are due to go on sale on November 1st; prices and outlet details will be released over the next few days.
Over the next few weeks, our new website – http://www.fusedfestival.com/ will be updated with information and links for the festival line-up, ticket sales, local accommodation and transport information etc.
In the meantime, please join our Facebook Page – Fused Festival 2011 - for updates http://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/Fused-Festival-2011/172205012793767
We can also announce the next 3 bands to join the line up:http://fusedfestival.com/
From Germany, we’re proud to present Toxic Smile. After being blown away by the sheer quality of this band, bringing them over was a must. With two albums under their belt and a third in production, this band’s visit to the UK is long overdue! Check them out on http://www.myspace.com/toxicsmile
Next up is To-Mera, one of the best progressive metal bands that the UK has produced. They say they “came into the world with a simple mission statement: to push the art form of contemporary progressive metal forwards.” Listening to their unique sound and the sheer quality of the band’s musicianship, we wouldn’t argue! More information from the band at http://www.to-mera.com/
Finally (for today!) we welcome Haken back to the stage in Lydney after a superb performance at the 2010 Summer’s End Festival. The band’s debut album, Aquarius, is an absolute must for fans of prog and metal alike and their live show is equally brilliant. Visit them at www.myspace.com/hakenmusic
