Robert Plant has announced that he has finished his new album and that it will be released under the revived name of Band Of Joy. This was the name of the group he was in just prior to joining Led Zeppelin.
Joining Plant on the album are vocalist Patty Griffin, guitarist/vocalist Buddy Miller, bassist Byron House, drummer Marco Giovino and multi-instrumentalist Darrell Scott.
Plant said of the album...
“It’s been a blast working on these new songs…and I’m enjoying such creativity and vitality. It’s been a remarkable change of direction for all of us and as a group we all seem to have developed a new groove.”The album will be released by Rounder Records (late Summer) and the band will play the following US shows in July...
