The third issue of "Classic Rock Presents…Prog" hits the shops next Wednesday (August 5th) and will also be available to US readers for the first time.
This time Rush grace the magazine’s lavish wallet. The magazine housed within the wallet will feature four separate Rush covers for fans to collect. Each one will feature an iconic image from various stages of the Canadian superstars career.
Even though I am a big fan of Rush I will certainly not be buying four copies of the magazine at £7.99 each. Does it tell you on the wallet which cover is inside? If not I don't think the shop would be very happy with buyers opening up their stock of copies until they found all four covers! Personally I think that having four different covers is a very stupid idea especially when I know for a fact that in certain parts of the country people have been struggling to get hold of one copy.
The new issue features Dream Theater, Queensryche, Opeth, Porcupine Tree, Voivod and Tarja plus an intriguing interview with the man who launched the legendary Vertigo label.
There are also brand new interviews with ex-Genesis guitarists Steve Hackett and Anthony Phillips, Marillion, The Gathering, War Of The World’s maestro Jeff Wayne, It Bites and even Captain Sensible. There is also the usual round-up on the latest prog news and an even bigger reviews section than ever before.
The free CD features an hour’s worth of the finest new progressive music being made today.
Austrian symphonic metallers VISIONS OF ATLANTIS have posted the following statement on their MySpace Page...
It..s right, Joanna Nieniewska was forced to leave the band a few weeks ago! The reason is a health-problem which should not be specified more detailed, but makes it impossible for her to complete a whole show on stage without risk. But because of the grown big friendship within the band during the last months the band is not willing her to leave totally and so we came to the point that at least Joanna has to be on the road with us when she can..t sing with the band anymore and so in future she..ll be on tour with us, helping us backstage and doing other important things to bring her support and energy into the band, although it..s another way now! There are no other reasons besides that, although we already had to read different stories on the internet, which are simply not true. As long as you can..t read it on the offical VoA-homepage or myspace it..s absolutely not official and does not come directly from the band or the nearest band-environment!!!
BUT NOW TO THE GOOD NEWS: The good news besides all that is, that we were able to find an absolute suitable substitute for Joanna within the extremely short time! Her name is Maxi Nil (pictured above), she..s from greece and she has already worked with Moonspell for instance and brings fresh energy and enthusiasm into the band! She was very fast in practising the material for the shows on metalcamp and with Tarja Turunen and we are already looking forward happily in doing future shows and tours with her!
Because of all those things the recordings for the new VoA-album are delayed a bit at the moment, but we did much work between the live shows now and so we..re very optimistic to finish pre-production very soon. Afterwards we..ll finally enter the studio to record our fourth album.
We hope that you all welcome Maxi Nil warmly as the newest member of Visions of Atlantis and that you can understand us and our decision, which is the best for everyone involved!

Metal Mind Productions presents the exclusive re-releases of Theatre of Tragedy's “Musique” and “Assembly” albums.
The Press Release says the following
...“Musique” was the first offering to take Theatre of Tragedy into a new direction and this exclusive re-release brings back one of the band’s most revolutionary steps ever… In the year 2000 Theatre of Tragedy decided to part ways with their past and reach towards the future by completely changing their musical direction. Released through Nuclear Blast on October 2nd, the group’s fourth LP, “Musique”, brought a brave mixture of industrial, electropop and gothic rock. The band left their early gothic/death metal inspirations and introduced a fresh new sound, focusing on upbeat, electro-based tracks. This rather controversial style change was difficult to accept by many fans of Theatre of Tragedy’s previous albums, but eventually the new formula proved to be more than convincing. The band decided to continue their experiments with the industrial genre on their next LP – “Assembly” – which was released on March 4th, 2002. The songs were still kept in the electropop fashion, but in the same time the material seemed to be more refined and confident. Such songs as the subtle “Liquid Man”, the extremely catchy “Automatic Lover” and the brilliantly composed “Envision” (where Liv’s voice resembles… Kylie Minogue!) prove that Theatre of Tragedy were able to take the best out of mixing gothic rock with industrial and synthpop. What is more, the album featured the band’s newest member – Vegard K. Thorsen, who previously worked with the group as a session guitarist.
Metal Mind Productions re-release “Musique” and “Assembly” on July 27th in Europe and September 8th in the USA (via MVD).
