ALISON KRAUSS and ROBERT PLANT To Perform At GRAMMY AWARDS

Robert Plant & Alison Krauss are now on the list of performers at the 51st annual Grammy Awards which will be held on February 8th at Staples Center in Los Angeles.

Krauss & Plant are planning to continue the partnership that spawned the platinum-certified, "Raising Sand" album.

It was recently reported that Krauss commented that the duo's association shouldn't bring the curtain down on any of their other projects.

Over a year has now gone by and still no Led Zeppelin DVD has surfaced from their O2 reunion concert!
I really thought it would have been released in time for Christmas.
Is it now, in fact, going to be released at all?

Rod Stewart Denies Faces Reunion

Rod Stewart has denied to Billboard Magazine that the Faces are going to reunite in 2009.

A statement issued by Rod Stewart’s spokesperson to the Magazine briefly said that “there are no plans for a Faces reunion tour this year.”

Also rumours that Red Hot Chili Pepper Flea would be on bass have also been denied.

Ian McLagan has also booked a long US tour that will see him playing solo dates until the latter part of May.

This comes after Ronnie Wood’s apparent confirmation in the Daily Mirror that the band were going to reunite and record a new album.

Please Sign No 10 Petition Against The Latest Draconian Live Music Crackdown

News has come to light of another piece of proposed legislation that will adversely affect live music in the UK.

It appears that the government wish to introduce laws insisting anyone applying or re-applying for an entertainment license must have a noise control device fitted to the venue.

This will be the final nail for all entertainment in the UK as the level at which these devices are set to is dreadfully low.

The proposed level mentioned a few weeks ago was 70Db, about the same as a hair dryer.

A petition has been organised on the Government Petition Site so I urge all UK live music lovers to sign it (For Brititsh citizens only).

Not only will this law affect musicians but the whole musical instrument industry, fans, venues etc. etc.

PLEASE DON'T DISMISS THIS.
Spread the word and get everyone you know, who loves live music, to sign the petition.

PLEASE SIGN THE PETITION HERE (by 23rd January 2009)...

Y&T Working On A New Album

USA rockers Y&T are working on their first new album in 12 years.

This year the band celebrate their 35th Anniversary and they are looking to have a new CD out before the end of the year.

The new CD will be their 12th studio album and the band’s first since 1997’s Endangered Species.

The band commented...
"2009 brings with it a milestone for Y&T as the band celebrates its 35th year of
rocking the world. Along with this comes news that the band is writing for a new record - the first CD of new material for the band in over 12 years. EPICA Recruit New Guitarist

Dutch symphonic metal band EPICA have announced that their new guitarist will be Isaac Delahaye.

The band said, "Isaac is no stranger to the band since he already replaced Ad once at a gig in France back in 2003. He also worked with Coen (Janssen; synthesizer, piano), Yves (Huts; bass) and Ariën (Van Weesenbeek; drums) on Project Sic in 2006, but the most of you will know him from his work with God Dethroned in which he also worked with Ariën. Isaac is an enormously talented and skilled musician and we think he is the ideal person to fill up Ad's spot and to make Epica's line-up strong and complete again."

Guitarist Ad Sluijter last month announced that he would be leaving EPICA.
