VISIONS OF ATLANTIS Reveal New Album Title

Austrian symphonic metallers VISIONS OF ATLANTIS have titled their fifth album, "Ethera".

The CD is currently being recorded at Artesonika Studios in Pordenone, Italy and is due later in the year via Napalm Records. 

This is the follow-up to last years fourth album, "Delta", which was released on March 15th.

The band commented...

"'Ethera' is a word mix out of  'ether' as the quintessence of this band, the energy between the five band members, the fifth album and 'era,' leading Visions Of Atlantis to some new and interesting musical and lyrical shores while still remaining typically Visions Of Atlantis!"


The band's October 23rd, 2011 performance at the Metal Female Voices Fest at Oktoberhallen in Wieze, Belgium was professionally filmed for a forthcoming DVD release.

A Series Of JIMI HENDRIX Vinyl Singles To Be issued In April

Sundazed Music has partnered with Experience Hendrix, L.L.C. to release a series of new 7" picture-sleeve vinyl singles featuring unique and hard to find vintage performances by Jimi Hendrix.

The first release is in April with a 7" single edition of  Bob Dylan's "Can You Please Crawl Out Your Window?", with "Burning Of The Midnight Lamp" on the B-side.

The A-side was recorded on the 17th October 1967 for BBC Radio's Rhythm and Blues show whilst "Burning Of The Midnight Lamp" was recorded on 24th August 1967 for the BBC programme Top Of The Pops.

All the singles in the series will feature a colour picture sleeve incorporating rare vintage Hendrix photos.

"When the Jimi Hendrix Experience first burst into the world’s collective consciousness, it was through vinyl 45 rpm singles. EDENBRIDGE To Release New Album In 2012

EDENBRIDGE are writing a new album to be released during 2012.

After a quiet 2011 the Austrian symphonic metallers are back and nearly an hours worth of new material has already been written.

A statement from, guitarist and keyboardist, Lanvall reads as follows...

"The past year brought a big challenge and many changes for nearly all in the band, personally and professionally, so Edenbridge had to step back into the second row temporarily. Furthermore I was struck by a family tragedy through the suicide of my father, which I had to come to terms with and still have to. Moments, where nothing is as it was before. 

These events of course will have a strong impact on our forthcoming album which is scheduled for 2012. I believe that this is going to be the most intensive album of our history. 55 minutes of music and 6 lyrics are already written and I often have goosebumps listening to the songs. Furthermore I am working on the longest epic track so far, which will be between 15 to 20 minutes. So stay tuned for the album !"

Edenbridge have been confirmed for the Castle Rock Festival on July 7th, 2012 in Mühlheim an der Ruhr, Germany.

SURFACE FESTIVAL - Brothers Grimmer

The Surface Festival is a European live music event of new music held throughout Europe in aid of discovering and promoting new talent.

Surface Festival 12, is working in association with Zimbalam, PMT, UK Guitar Shows, Ents24, Marshall, D'Addario, Jumbocruiser, Tama, Ashdown, Sziget Fest, Zildjian, Evans, Last.fm, Ibanez, CheckMineOut, Gig The Nation, Monkey Week, Michael Brydon Photography, Planet Waves, Ritter, Univibe Audio, SEO it right, Quite Great PR, Audio Rokit and Access to music to develop alternative ways for band and artists to gain exposure and develop their fan base. EPICA Release First New Album Teaser

A teaser for, "Requiem For The Indifferent", the forthcoming album from Dutch symphonic metallers EPICA, can be seen at the bottom of this posting.

"Here we are with the first official teaser. This time however we're doing it like no one has done before, by weekly releasing an extra layer of music, giving our fans a little more insight in the complexity and the different aspects of Epica's music.

As this is the first video in the series, you'll only hear Ariën's drums. However, the next seven weeks we will add layer by layer, and make the sample longer and longer. Through these videos we will also weekly release backstage pictures, pieces of the album artwork, tour updates, etc, to make the wait for the album just a little bit more bearable!"

NIGHTWISH Commence World Tour In The US

Symphonic metallers NIGHTWISH started their world tour on January 21st at the Gibson Ampitheater in Universal City, Los Angeles.

This was the biggest Nightwish show production ever on North American soil and strictly a one-off as there will be no US tour until later in the year.

TOM PETTY Announces London Show

Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers have announced a London show at the Royal Albert Hall on Wednesday, June 20th 2012. This will be their first major UK show for twenty years.

Tickets go on general sale from 10am on Friday, January 20th from the usual outlets.

The band will then headline the Isle Of Wight Festival on Friday 22nd June which is the band's first ever festival in the UK.

They also join Bruce Springsteen as a headliner at the Seaclose Park festival which takes place on the weekend of 22nd-24th.

UNISONIC, Featuring MICHAEL KISKE & KAI HANSEN, Release First Video

The first video from UNISONIC, the band featuring MICHAEL KISKE & KAI HANSEN, can be seen below. 

The video was directed by photographer/director Martin Hausler (Meat Loaf, Gotthard, Helloween, Motorhead) and shows the band performing in Heidelberg, Germany.

Unisonic will release its debut EP, "Ignition", on January 27th via earMUSIC/Edel. 

The EP will include the track, "Unisonic", plus one demo song and a cover version of the Helloween's "I Want Out", recorded live on October 15th at this year's Loud Park festival in Japan.

A full-length Unisonic album will be released sometime in March.
