New RADIOHEAD Album

Radiohead will start work on a new album early next year.

Guitarist Ed Byrne has said on the band's official website...
“The vibe in the camp is fantastic at present, and we head off into the studio in January to continue on from the work we started last Summer. I am so genuinely excited about what we’re doing, but for obvious reasons I can’t divulge anything more

“Ten years ago we were all collectively (that’s the band) in the land of Kid A, and although hugely proud of that record, it wasn’t a fun place to be. What’s reassuring now, is that we are most definitely a different band, which should therefore mean that the music is different too and that is the aim of the game.”
Updates on the progress of the album will be posted on the band's website.

RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE Announce They Will Play Free Gig

Rage Against The Machine are to celebrate their UK Christmas number one by putting on a free gig for their fans.

The band’s "Killing In The Name" beat X Factor winner Joe McElderry’s "The Climb" to the top spot outselling it by 50,000 units.

Guitarist Tom Morello said he was thrilled to be part of the Facebook campaign to prevent the X Factor from securing their 5th consecutive Christmas number 1 and intended to reward fans with a free gig.
"This is a huge victory by and for fans of real music and we extend our heartfelt thanks to every fan and freedom fighter who helped make our anthem of defiance and rebellion the Anarchy Christmas Miracle of 2009."

"As promised we will play a free concert in the UK in celebration of this incredible upset victory over the heavily favoured X Factor single.

"We are also pleased that so much money has been raised for homeless charity Shelter and are happy to donate as well to aid this important cause. While there are many lessons that can be drawn from this historic upset, the main one is this: that ordinary people, banding together in solidarity, can change anything, be it the pop charts or the world."

"PROGENY 3 - THE RETURN" Festival Names Full Line-up

The full line-up of bands for PROGENY 3 has been announced on the CLASSIC ROCK SOCIETY website.

RPWL have had to cancel their appearance and they have been replaced by PALLAS.
However, Chris Postl and Parzival’s Eye will still be appearing.

The Saturday special guest spot will be filled by THE ELVES OF SILBURY HILL.
The Assembly in association with The Classic Rock Society are pleased to make the following band announcements for

Progeny 3 – The Return

Firstly, we are disappointed to have to announce that, due to unavoidable circumstances, RPWL have had to cancel their appearance at Progeny 3.

However, we are absolutely delighted to say that they are replaced by the Scottish legends that are Pallas.

Continuing our ‘theme’ of The Marquee Club, circa 1982, Pallas are another band who rose to prominence during the early 80’s progressive rock revival. Although they have experienced the occasional hiatus over the years, they have never really gone away, consistently coming up with innovative new music. Now, they are entering the studio to record the sequel to their classic album ‘The Sentinel’, some of which you can expect to hear, along with a selection of classic ‘oldies’.

http://www.myspace.com/pallastherockband
http://www.pallas.f2s.com/

Next, we are equally delighted to announce that the Saturday special guest spot will be filled by The Elves Of Silbury Hill.

Now this may be a name that means nothing to you, but I promise you will NOT be disappointed! We can't say any more about them just at the moment...

Lastly, you will be pleased to know that Chris Postl and Parzival’s Eye will still be appearing at Progeny 3, however, they will now be the first band on Sunday, whilst Future Kings Of England will open proceedings on Saturday.

Therefore, here is the complete festival line up (subject to change)

SATURDAY 8th MAY
Future Kings Of England 3.30-4.15
